The "3-Minute Day" Music Video

The centerpiece of our Diamond, Platinum and Gold packages is the "3-Minute Day" Music Video. This video offers an exciting recap of your entire wedding day from start to finish. It is edited to the song of your choice.

Today I've posted Amy & Mike's "3-Minute Day" Music Video. They were married at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Atlanta. Their photo shoot was at Centennial Olympic Park, which was followed by their reception at Anthony's in Buckhead.

Our coverage of your wedding ceremony and reception is very unobtrusive. We do our best to stay out of the way and capture the events of the day as they occur. The edited footage of your ceremony and reception is presented "documentary-style" so you can enjoy your wedding day in real time. The total running time of the edited footage ranges from 60 to 90 minutes.

The "3-Minute Day" Music Video includes all of the highlights from your ceremony and reception, as well as footage captured during the bride/groom preparation, the pre-ceremony and the photo shoot. This is the perfect way to share your wedding day with friends and family who may not want to sit through the hour-long documentary. This video can be uploaded to YouTube, MySpace or any other streaming video website, or it can be loaded onto a video iPod so you can enjoy it anywhere.

Today is the final day of our promotional pricing. Please send an email to info@prettygirlweddings.com or call me at 678.908.6205 to reserve your wedding date at the current pricing.

Kelly & Bastian

This is the Pre-Ceremony Montage I created for Kelly & Bastian. They got married at the historic Bona Allen Mansion in Buford, which is about an hour north of Atlanta:

The First Dance

The following is a clip from April & Ryan's wedding at The Piedmont Room at Park Tavern in Atlanta:

I like to use the footage filmed at the photo shoot during the first dance portion of the video. Since I don't like to move too much during the first dance, adding this footage to the final edit creates both movement and style during this intimate moment between the newlywed couple.

I use a Glidecam almost exclusively during the photo shoot. This device enables me to capture smooth and steady shots as I move around the couple. I'll be posting many more clips featuring my Glidecam work in the weeks to come.

Lights or no lights?

The following clip features Isel & Russ's first dance. Their wedding took place at the historic Flint Hill mansion in Norcross, just north of Atlanta. (My favorite part is when Russ starts singing to his new wife.)

I screen this particular clip for clients when we discuss whether or not we should use an on-camera light during the reception. We prefer not to use a light during the first dance to preserve the moment for the couple. In a dimly-lit reception hall, this may result in footage that is darker than the rest of the video.

In the above clip, the photographer decided his flash wasn't giving him the pics he wanted, so he set up a light on a stand and lit up the dance floor about halfway through the song. When you watch the clip you'll easily notice which shots have the light and which ones don't. However, almost every client we've talked to prefers to have darker footage of the first dance instead of having a light blasting in their faces. For those who want the light, we're happy to oblige them. :o)

For the remainder of the reception, we use our best judgment as to whether or not the situation requires an on-camera light. The next clip is from Jill and Josh's wedding, which took place at the Piedmont Room at Park Tavern in Atlanta:

The venue was completely dark by 8pm, so I had no choice but to use a light for most of the footage. I feel the light contributed to the "dance club" atmosphere at this reception.

There's no easy answer for the lighting issue as every venue is different. We like to be as "invisible" as we possibly can while documenting your wedding day, but sometimes a little light is necessary to get a good image. So we arrive at the venue with plenty of lights and batteries and are ready for any situation.

We're offering promotional pricing for weddings booked by January 31st. Please call us at 678.908.6205 or email us at info@prettygirlweddings.com for a complete list of prices.

Kendra & Guy

Kendra & Guy's wedding was held at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Downtown Atlanta. Afterwards, everyone headed up Peachtree Street to their reception, which was held at the Historic Wimbish House in Midtown. I thought this song was beautiful when I heard the soloist perform it at the ceremony, so I tried something new with their "3-Minute Day" Music Video. I'm very happy with the results:

Christine also had fun creating their Custom DVD Case:

I sent their completed DVDs to them just before the holidays. We just heard from Kendra last night:

"We absolutely love (the DVDs) - especially the music video. I gave them to our parents for Christmas and they were so impressed by them.

Thank you so much for all the care and consideration you put into our videos. They really captured the splendor of the day."

A new look for the new year

The following clip is one of my personal favorites. It features Amy and her bridesmaids at her photo shoot in Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta. (Her husband Mike makes an appearance as well.)

Last night Christine surprised me (and a few potential clients as well) with a fresh new website! I think it really reflects how we've grown as a company as we start our second full year of business.

I'm also pleased to announce that we've made some changes to our Packages page. We believe that every newlywed couple should have a video of their wedding day, regardless of what their budget is. With that in mind, we've created five new packages to accommodate every budget.

We're offering promotional pricing for weddings booked by January 31st. Please call us at 678.908.6205 or email us at info@prettygirlweddings.com for a complete list of prices.

Happy New Year!

And welcome to our new blog!

We've decided to convert our Sample Video page so that it includes both samples of our work and some information about each clip.

We've also switched over to exclusively previewing our samples on YouTube. This way, everyone can easily view our videos regardless of what kind of computer or software you are using. And because YouTube "streams" videos, you won't have to experience long download times if you have a slower Internet connection.

2007 is shaping up to be a revolutionary year for video. More people than ever are watching streaming videos on sites like YouTube, MySpace and Google. And all of the major television networks and cable channels are developing their own streaming video websites, which will feature episodes of your favorite shows that you might have missed (no more setting the TiVO), as well as brand new programming with episodes that are only five minutes long (perfect for online viewing).

It's easier than ever to share your wedding video with your family and friends over the Internet. You don't need a website or special software to do this. Upon delivery of your completed wedding DVD, we can provide your favorite clips for you to upload to YouTube, MySpace or the site of your choice.

Below is a short clip featuring the pre-ceremony photo shoot of Jill and her bridesmaids. The ceremony and reception were both held at The Piedmont Room at Park Tavern (next to Piedmont Park in Atlanta):

Like what you see? We can send you our high-quality demo, which includes this video and many more. Request your copy by calling us at 678.908.6205 or emailing us at info@prettygirlweddings.com.

We're looking forward to working with the couples we've already booked for 2007, and we can't wait to work with those of you we haven't met yet. :o)
